This project has made us consider how to equip all classroom teachers with the skills to confidently get children to understand what transferable language skills are and also how to ensure that all Year 7 children build on existing language skills and make good progress. We have looked at strategies for achieving the above point in a unitary authority where children from one primary school may go to ten or more Secondary schools and Secondary schools will take children from ten or more primary schools.
Key areas of work were to work towards looking at the development and transition of transferable language learning skills from KS2 to KS3 embracing the key aspects of learning such as creative thinking, motivation, social skills, self awareness and many more.
The resources available are in Spanish and French and deal with The Rainforest.
